Who We Are
Tabari Sturdivant (Director)
The idea for The A Stands for Art came to Tabari while driving through Atlanta, noticing murals blossoming across neighborhoods, walls, and bridges. He kept asking: “Why now? Why here? Why is the city suddenly speaking so loudly through art?” That curiosity became the seed for this documentary.
Tabari’s roots are in filmmaking, with over a decade at Tyler Perry Studios where he worked across more than 300 shows and films, eventually creating and leading their Behind-the-Scenes Department. He has also written and directed over five feature films, establishing himself as a storyteller with both range and depth. The A Stands for Art marks a more personal turn — leaning into the responsibility of documenting culture as it unfolds around us.
Sade Wilkins (Producer)
For Sade, The A Stands for Art has been both a creative pursuit and a personal journey. With a background in marketing, production, and brand storytelling, she has worked with major brands across the magazine and festival landscape, and began her career as a writer curating artist interviews and cultural coverage. Filmmaking became the space where she could merge her professional skills with her deeper calling: telling raw stories about community and resilience.
When she moved to Atlanta, Sade quickly discovered that the city gives back as much as you pour into it.
“Every artist I interviewed introduced me to the next. That’s when I realized the story wasn’t just about art — it was about how community sustains itself. Moving here, I was once the person searching for belonging, and now I get to help document a community that embraced me.”
