About the Film
The A Stands for Art is a feature-length documentary and docu-series that explores Atlanta’s homegrown renaissance through intimate stories of artists, curators, and cultural organizers.
Filmed over several years, The A Stands for Art is both a feature-length documentary and docu-series, capturing Atlanta at a crossroads: a booming population, a flourishing art scene, and the tension between cultural heritage and gentrification. By tying Atlanta’s history of resistance to its present-day art boom, the project shows how creativity continues to fuel renewal.
We weave together stories of resistance, resilience, and imagination — tying Atlanta’s role in the Civil Rights movement and the Black Lives Matter era to the city’s art boom today.
Beyond the screen, our mission is to expand access to the arts by bringing the film into schools, city programs, and community centers — transforming screenings into spaces for conversation, education, and inspiration.
